How the Test Is Performed

Aided and unaided audiometry are conducted in a soundproof booth using calibrated headphones or speakers. You will be asked to respond to a series of sounds and speech at different volumes and pitches. The first test is done without your hearing aids (unaided), and the second is conducted while wearing them (aided).

The results are then compared on an audiogram to determine the benefit your hearing aids are providing. The entire process is safe, non-invasive, and takes about 30–45 minutes.
